Article withdrawal Policy

Once an academic or scientific paper has been published by a journal, it's sometimes too late to withdraw it. Why because it is so important to learn all about the journal and be certain that it is the right home for your research before submitting the manuscript. Era’s Journal of Medical Research are committed to uphold the publication ethics and providing high-quality articles to advance the intellectual agenda. We anticipate authors to follow the publication ethics as well as the quality of their articles. Some authors request withdrawal of manuscript forms the publication process after submission. In some cases the request for withdrawal is made very late, when the article is only a few days away from publication in the journal. Withdrawing manuscripts after publication may cause amount of time wasted in processing the manuscripts by the editors, reviewers, and the editorial board members. Authors are requested to decide before submitting the manuscript. Ideally, these should be decided even before beginning to write the manuscript.

To avoid withdrawal of a manuscript

We request the authors especially to the corresponding author or the first author to address the following issues before submitting the manuscript:

  • Check several times that the facts and data presented in the manuscripts are error-free and accurate.
  • Confirm that the facts and data included in the manuscript are the authors’ own work, authors are permitted to use the materials and resources as they have been used in the study.
  • Verify that all authors agree to the presentation and interpretation of the facts and data given in the manuscript. In case of any changes of opinion, address all the authors before submitting the manuscript for publication.
  • Before submitting the article for publication, inform all the authors, the name of the journal to which the manuscript is being submitted and give them a copy of the final article.
  • Justify that all the authors agree on the specific journal to submit the manuscript for publication. If there are any disagreements about the selection of the journal, find a journal which is agreeable to all authors before submitting the manuscript for publication.
  • Submit the manuscript to only one journal for consideration of publication. Do not submit the manuscript to another journal in the same time.
  • The journal does not accept to withdraw the manuscript once it is accepted by another Journal.
  • If the authors do not reply to communication from the editorial office, even after multiple reminders, at any stage of the publication process. Era’s Journal of Medical Research holds all rights to disclose the conduct of the authors and content of the manuscript without further approval from the authors, and cannot be held responsible for the consequences arising from it.

Article may be withdrawn within 2 days of submission of article. The withdrawal request must be followed via Contact us page. Manuscripts (articles) once processed for peer review process or published online shall be withdrawn with penalty paid to Editorial office of Era’s Journal of Medical Research. Withdrawl of manuscript after publication if paid by the authors, the publication charges will not be refunded. In limited number of cases, it may be necessary to remove a published article from our online platform. This will only happen if an article is clearly defamatory, or contravene, legal rights, or we have good reason to expect that it will be, the subject of a court order, or where the article if acted upon, may pose a serious health risk. In such circumstances, the Editorial office of Era’s Journal of Medical Research, will provide the corresponding author a formal letter of manuscript withdrawl.

How author write a withdrawal letter to the journal?

If you would like to withdraw your paper from a journal, you will have to send a withdrawal request. You should mention the title of the article and the manuscript is provided to the journal and the reason for manuscript withdrawl. Additionally, you should request withdrawal from the editor as the withdrawal process will be done only after you receive the confirmation.

Here is a template for a withdrawal request:

Dear Mr. XXX [Editor's Name],
I would wish to withdraw my manuscript titled XXXX [Title of paper] from further consideration by your journal. The manuscript ID is XXXX and the submission date was XXXX. The reason for withdrawl is XXXX.

Please confirm that the withdrawal process is complete. I apologize for any inconvenience caused. Sincerely,
